There are times along this journey of life that the Father puts certain people in your path for a specific reason and season, that you dont realize are there to help facilitate a shift in your situation and life in general. Not taking away from the others that have been a true blessing to my wife and Is lives over the years, I just felt the need to acknowledge a new bredren that the Father had cross paths with us at a key time in our family life, marriage, and even in my personal faith walk. Originally thought that he was there to help us with one of our sons, we ended up realizing that WE WERE THE ONES THAT NEEDED TO BE WORKED ON! Having Roger Trott work with my wife De Lori and I over the past few months, has been the catalyst for a breakthrough in our marriage and relationship that I REALLY cant even put a monetary value on, but I will say that we have NEVER been closer and in this SOLID of a space as a couple and family for over 2 decades! As we sat and talked over our date night dinner, we discussed how MANY people dont appreciate or even see the necessity of marriage maintenance counselling. Most folk know about the pre-marital sessions (which in MANY cases STILL doesnt sufficiently prepare you for the HARSH REALITIES of married life), but Ive found that MOST couples dont recognize or we JUST DONT KNOW, the LIFE SAVING VALUE OF MARRIAGE/RELATIONSHIP MAINTENANCE counselling. In most cases, such as ours, we as married folk wait until the relationship is dead and buried and we are out the door, and THEN WE TRY TO SAVE IT BY GOING TO COUNSELLING,BUT UNFORTUNATELY by then things are just too far gone and we end up seeing a whole section in the newspaper filled with divorce notices! Even though we havent linked up for a session for quite sometime now, due to our VERY hectic schedules, I am still happy to say that the principles and strategies that Roger taught us are still being applied and we are committed to continued growth! Thanks my brotha! MONDAY NIGHT DATE NIGHTS STILL GOING STRONG AND STEADY! BLESS UP KING!! :-) Happy me, happy wife, HAPPY LIFE!
