There are times when I feel empty and God seems so far from me! Oh, you say, but you are a preacher. Surely you do not have those moments. I beleive all of us suffer from times of discouragement or depression steming from circumstances of life or from physical exhaustion or maybe a spiritual attack from Satan. What do we do in these times? I have found that I am renewed in my faith when I read and meditiate upon the Word of God; when I pray intentionly and specificly about my needs; when I seek to serve others in the name of my God; and when I recall the blessing of the past.God desires that we live a life of victory! Paul wrote that, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. Romans 8;37 Think with me about my formula to rid ourselves of discouragement: (1) Read the Word: The Word of God instructs me. Psalm 119:173, Let thine hand help me; for I have chosen thy precepts. (2) Pray intentionly: Prayer identifies my source of power. Psalm 120:1 In my ditress I cried unto the Lord, and He heard me. (3) Serving others: Serving others inspires me, as I see the joy my sevice brings to them. Philippians 2:3-4 let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. (4) Remembering past blessings: Remembering gives me insight into what God has and what God can and will do! Psalm 103:1 : Bless the Lord, O my soul: and forget not all His benefits. Today, live in the victory that God has for you! Rise above your circumstances; claim victory through Christ Jesus your Lord and rejoice in the Lord today! God bless and have a great day!
