There are times when I think my time in the hospital battling MS is the hardest thing about being a parent. But then I am given today with autism. Watching Coco hurt herself just to feel. Letting her smash things as Im not quick enough sometimes to stop her. Holding her tight as we brave the wilds of it together. As the sole parent I wish sometimes for help, for a 10 min break as my disease has left me weak. But I remind myself that she is perfect the way she is. We all have bad days just some of us are better at hiding them. Which one of us has not felt like smashing something on a bad day? And I would trade one of hers, good or bad, for the world.
