There are times when the media absolutely annoys the stew out of me. Today is one of those days. Those that care are attending the exhibition game between the St Louis Cardinals and the Memphis Redbirds. They have purchased tickets inspite of a strong chance of rain at the games scheduled start time. They have come from areas that include Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, and others. Some have come just to satisfy their passion for baseball, some for the love of the Cardinals and some seeking autographs from some of their favorite players. However, this effort is thwarted by the fact that the media pull the players away for interviews, to ask senseless questions as their prediction for the Cardinals for the 2014 season. The point? You media have 365 day access to players. With your credentials you can get on the field, in the dugout, the dressing room, or just about anywhere. How about leaving just one place for the fans? Let us have that fleeting opportunity to catch a players attention and get an autograph just to make our experience that much more memorable. You have many opportunities to get to the players. Now butt out and give us hard working stiffs our opportunity. Go earn your Pulitzer prize elsewhere.
