There are two categories of people that I deeply respect to the point of awe. I seriously hold in high esteem people who are going or have gone through severe hardship, especially financial hardship and have remained faithful to their values and to God through it all. Those are heroes who are hardly sung but the quality of their lives constitute one of the pillars on which the earth stands. Number two, I have deep respect for parents who are raising children with incurable medical conditions that has brought down the childs mind. I consider this a most terrible trial. When I see a mother carrying a child with Turners Syndrome or such things and she is loving and caring for that child, it almost bring tears to my eyes because such parents are making interminable sacrifices from which they know they will most probably reap nothing. Theirs have become a life of permanently living with pains for which they may never be appreciated much less rewarded - in the way society has conspired to define reward. That child will never win a laurel or drive in one day with grandchildren at Christmas. I see such people praising God and, yes, they do even laugh. I respect them and I think there is something special about them - a depth of life I probably will never know though I try hard to learn from them and live a life of gratitude. May God really bless, reward and honour such people.
