There are various schemes to help North Koreans settle in, but despite this, some still find it almost impossible to feel at home in South Korea, and say they face discrimination. A few North Koreans have even returned. South Korean President Park Geun-hye. Photograph: YonhapNews/EPA Some policy experts believe that efforts towards reunification should refocused to begin with these defectors, to improve relations between the South and North Koreans who already live in the same country. It is this, they argue, that should help create a blueprint for wider cooperation. “The first hurdle towards unification is the issue of North Korean defectors,” writes Professor Park Sang-bong of Myongji University. “If the South Korean government does not have the will or ability to manage North Korean defectors... then “unification as jackpot” becomes a meaningless phrase, a hurdle that neither public nor politician can overcome”. I am not agree with the statement that writes Professor Park Sang-bong, “If the South Korean government does not have the will or ability to manage North Korean defectors... then “unification as jackpot” becomes a meaningless phrase, a hurdle that neither public nor politician can overcome”. I want to express as; Since the South Korean government does have the will, the ability to manage North Korean defectors or not it does not matter, “unification as jackpot” is a highly meaningful, it is not the matter of whether politician can overcome or not”. Eventually the political party will be determined by the peoples major supporting from the vote. Professor Park’s statement indicating never ends up in realism for the Korea reunification. This is the great moment, President Park GH has expressed from the election campaign, and her government.
