There exists few moments in ones life that are defining. Some of these moments come to us traumatically without warning and some come to us quietly over time, yet quite overwhelmingly. The nature of change is relentless, yet never consistent. This is why I believe so many live in fear and dwell on future possibilities. However, these possibilities are just that...possibilities...it is fundamental that ones choices determines their future but there will always be unforeseen variables that nobody can predict or control. It is in this attempting to control future events I find most people lose themselves. I could not change the events of September 11th 2001 no more than I could change the events of September 11th 2010. Both days were life changing and both days were unforeseen. One brought me great pain and anger and the other brought me great joy and love. I am humbled by both events and not a day passes where I dont think about them. Today is the 13 year mark of the greatest act of murder and destruction in my lifetime. Im still angry, I still want answers, and I still want justice, yet today is also the 4 year anniversary of the day I met my lovely sweetheart Jenn and she trumps all of the anger and all of the disgust I have for this date. She made this day good again. It is my belief that we go through life on the brink of chaos or on the shoulders of the ones we love, this is our choice and its the only one we have control over and no matter what choices we make nothing can be done about the curveballs. God bless those who perished on 911 and the thousands of troops that sacrificed everything in the wars that followed and to Jenn, I love you. You have brought piece to my life and immeasurable love. You are my life, happy anniversary.
