There has been a little bit of advertising around about the cons of waxing. So I thought I would clarify about waxing your eyebrows... Waxing does not cause wrinkles or enlarged pores. If you have sagging eyelids, it is likely to be more hereditary or lifestyle choices... Lets see what causes wrinkles; - 90% of premature aging is caused by the sun. - Free Radicals; In our bodies and in the environment are free radicals. In simple terms, these are unstable molecules that attach to stable molecules, breaking the stable ones down. Our bodies combat free radicals with antioxidants, but the older we get, the fewer defenses we have working for us. Eventually, the free radicals age our bodies. Skin is exposed to free radicals in the environment from such things as cigarette smoke, pollution and in the sun. Our bodies produce them from breathing, digesting and other functions - Muscle Use; We see it the most on our faces. Eventually, as we age, wrinkles form where the skin has been stretched repeatedly from our expressions. These are the laugh lines or the parenthesis around our mouths for example. As we age, the ability of the skin to bounce back into place is lessened by drying out and thinning, so wrinkles form where we stretch the skin the most. It should be noted that the wrinkling occurs because of the breaking down of the skin. The muscles dont cause the wrinkling. Does Waxing Cause Wrinkles? Plainly put, no waxing does not cause wrinkles. When people claim that it does, the myth is that by pulling on the skin when the waxing strips are removed, it stretches out the skin and, eventually, it doesnt bounce back. However, as is cited above, skin wrinkles when the cells break down. Stretching the skin does not destroy the integrity of the cells. Nor does the wax break down the skin cells. It is a completely safe procedure. If you have sensitive skin, waxing may cause a rash, but it will not cause wrinkles! Also, if you make a face and the wind changes. THIS IS ALSO A MYTH.
