She concludes that The results of these previous studies are remarkably consistent. Breastfeeding mothers are less tired and get more sleep than their formula- or mixed-feeding counterparts. And this lowers their risk for depression. Moms at risk of depression do need support and management to maximize sleep quality as it is protective however continuing to breast feed can also be very protective.
