There has been a rush of #googlehacked in the past two days. Was Gmail hacked? No. Though, there was account data posted on public websites. It was a combination of old accounts, malware, phishing and recreating information due to duplication of your personal log ins. As sited on Google’s Blog “We found that less than 2% of the username and password combinations might have worked, and our automated anti-hijacking systems would have blocked many of those login attempts.” Let’s take this incident as reminder to keep yourself protected. Use unique log-ins and passwords for each site, if possible. Protect your email password and change it often. Changing your password will prevent the password recovery features from allowing unauthorized users to recover your accounts. If you would like to read more about the credential dump and what measures Google is using to protect your account and information, here is the security blog. #EminentSEO #ESEO #GoodToKnow googleonlinesecurity.blogspot/2014/09/cleaning-up-after-password-dumps.html
