There has been an old post circulating Facebook regarding the potential danger of ice cubes and your pets - snopes/critters/crusader/icewater.asp has identified it as false and given evidence that our very own Dr. Kate agrees with. Ice and ice water in itself is not dangerous to your pets! Dr. Kate had more to say regarding bloat: A common scenario preceding bloat is drinking too much water, eating too fast, and exercising in a way that causes swallowing of air. We usually think of deep chested dogs: wolfhounds, Danes, shepherds, Dobermans, boxers, rottweilers and similar breeds being the most commonly affected, but not the only Bloating is always an emergency! Drooling, dry heaves, abdomen rapidly becoming swollen, are all signs showing the need for immediate attention!
