There has been no improvements in the road conditions. There is increased traffic on the primary roads. The secondary road conditions are still very treacherous. Shallotte PD is reported several vehicles going off the roadway. Main Street between Naber Drive and Hwy 17 at the south end traffic light remains closed by Shallotte Police Dept. as vehicles fail to maintain traction in this area. The 340-350 block of Whiteville Rd between Main Street and Bridger Road is solid ice and black ice has formed on the bridges over the Shallotte River on Main Street and on Whiteville Road as well as all roads throughout Town of Shallotte. Smith Ave extension is heavy ice in the curve. Whiteville Road from Ash and Old Shallotte Rd from Longwood are experiencing heavy ice in the heavily wooded areas . Next update is expected at 10am.
