There has been nothing on the television that I want to watch for - TopicsExpress

There has been nothing on the television that I want to watch for months now. Soon the new season will be starting and no doubt there will be very little that I consider worth watching. I dont watch breakfast television, daytime television, soaps, reality dancing/diving/ice skating shows. (I did watch Strictly Come Dancing once with my mum a couple of years ago when I was staying with her and found it to be boring, full of padding out to make it last hours and possibly the most futile subject for a programme imaginable). I dont watch football, cricket, baseball, rugby. I havent watched Masterchef since it changed from a simple programme with Lloyd Grossman, never seen Great British Bake Off or Great British Menu (or whatever it is called this week). None of them hold any interest for me. I watch the trailers for programmes and if they dont grab me (and they usually show the best bits) then I dont watch them. Thank goodness for dvds. There are some great series that I have found such as Grays Anatomy. I am watching it from the very first episode and it is really great, good stories, good messages and good acting. Another series is The Middle. A comedy about a middle class family. It is funny, not a bit patronising and has some great one liners. I have recently finished watching Ali McBeal from the first episode to the very last. It didnt appeal to me when it was on tv years ago, but now I appreciate it for what it is, an excellent programme. I think I would rather cook a good meal, meet with friends, read a book, write a book, create a workshop rather than sit a mindlessly stare at the television screen. This is, of course, my opinion only and is what I feel is right for me. So today it is doing the washing, finishing off the accounts, writing some more of my book, ordering shopping to be delivered and probably finishing off with a couple of episodes of Grays Anatomy.
