There has been some pretty snide remarks made recently about our Facebook page, and I would like to address these comments. There are several reasons why we do not post paranormal photographs on our Facebook page. The first being the overwhelming number of hateful comments and e-mails we get when we do. Of all the photographs we post, paranormal pictures are the least popular. The second is that for members of our group, the paranormal is one of personal exploration, not a burden of proof. We realize that proving the paranormal exists is an impossible endeavor. The third reason is that much of what shapes our lives is history and the same is true about the paranormal. Knowledge of history is probably the greatest asset an investigator has in determining why a location is haunted. Knowledge of not only general U.S. history, but also knowledge of your local history. Almost every St. Louisan can tell you the significance of July 4, 1776, but very few can tell you the significance of February 15, 1764. If you are looking for a paranormal experience we offer several events. We are also the only paranormal group that offers free public investigations. We are also working on a free seminar series, where members of the St. Louis Paranormal Society and at times guest speakers will engage in an open dialogue on various subjects with paranormal investigators and paranormal enthusiasts who are in attendance. Yes we do charge for some of our events, but through our various endeavors, we not only raise money to support our own group, but we also help raise money to support private businesses, historical societies, and non for profit charities. If you’re looking for cheap thrills and scary pictures, then we are probably not the Facebook page for you. If you find our Facebook page not to your liking, then just click the “Unlike” icon, and it’s easier than writing an email. Thank You, STLPRS
