There has been some recent discussion here regarding the state of the Ulverstone cemetery. As I had not visited for some time, I took a 10 minute break this morning when I was in the area just to see what the state of play was. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised with the general appearance. In the 1980s cemetery was in a shocking state (see comparative photos of the SIMPSON plot - 1980-2014. Unfortunately the main issue with the cemetery is the condition of some of the headstones and graves. This is a much more specialist job and requires physical mending/re-bonding of the headstones that have suffered through wilful vandalism. I will do some research and see if WE AS A GROUP are able to apply some repair to at least some of the headstones. Watch this space.......
