There has been some rumour, and yes it is true that we have had to recently withdrawn from working with The Plastic Soldier Company in the future, this is purely to do with differences in working practice between our two companies. The Plastic Soldier Company make excellent product and those of their team we have met are very personable individuals. As of the 1st of May 2014 this range will be available to all 4Ground distributors and retailers without Plastic Soldier Company branding and with a reduced SRP reflecting the reduction in the supply chain. It was the Plastic Soldier Company who initially requested we look into designing and producing iconic buildings from all periods in 20mm (approx. 1/72) scale and for us to first specifically look at a range of buildings and terrain for WWII to go with their current ever growing support for that period in this scale. Therefore insomuch they initiated our design focus on 20mm kits, but these kits are and remain 4Ground product. As the instigators of this new 4Ground range the Plastic Soldier Company had, requested, and endeavoured to be sole international distributors of all 4Ground products in 1/72 scale for all historic periods. To date this range has gone through to distribution via the Plastic Soldier Company and been branded for distribution identification and brand association as Plastic Soldier Company products designed and manufactured by 4Ground, from the 1st of May 2014 this range will be branded as 4Ground 20S. The working relationship between our two companies, as we say, has now come to an end (and we wish the Plastic Soldier Company all the best in future); from the growing number of emails we have received regarding this eventuality the biggest concern of 1/72 scale gamers and collectors has been, ‘will 4Ground still support this 20mm range and continue with new releases from their original design schedule’. The short answer is yes we will, expanding not only those kits available for WWII but also kits for other historical periods as per our original schedule. Therefore we are bringing out a Pegasus Bridge in this scale for June 2014 (on show with a 15mm and 28mm scaled option at our stand - TD 06 - during Salute 2014). Regarding other periods, we will still be bringing out a pre-painted Rorkes Drift in this scale for Nov/December 2014 and we will still bring out a La Haye Sainte farm and possibly also a Hougoumont complex for June 2015 in 20mm (1/72) scale.
