There have been a few fires lately which is a reminder to make sure you have working smoke detectors and also to get renters insurance if you do not already have it. Remember it could be a neighboring property that catches fire and affects the property you rent. The red cross can only help for a couple days so renters insurance is very important to have. It will pay for temporary housing and replace personal belongings lost in the event of a fire, theft, electrical surge, bursting pipes, etc.
