There have been several heated arguments on my Wall over the past couple of days revolving around the issues raised by the whole Sony/Hacking affair. Free speech, racism, state/corporate propaganda, incitement to murder, western attitudes towards North Korea, the identity of the hackers and many more points have been brought up. If you want to know my views and those who disagree, feel free to peruse the various threads. But one thing is true: this movie is by no means a serious attempt to critique the barbaric regime of Kim Jong Un or his father and grandfather before him, a regime which does not “have any parallel in the contemporary world according to the UN. It is likely a bad comedy with racist overtones and a tasteless punchline. To me that doesnt mean it should be suppressed - but neither is it a work of insight or even good satire.
