There have been some amazing people brought into our lives throughout this battle in hell. One of those people was Elizabeth Lyons (Liz). Liz came into our lives later in the battle but once on board she rowed a very heavy load for us. She hooked us up and corresponded with people bringing our meals. Less than weeks before Nicholas went to be with the Lord, he decided to ask out his life long crush. He planned this amazing event with me in the middle of the night as I laid on the couch next to his immobile body in a hospice bed. In the darkness that night he carefully planned how he was going to ask her out. He even designed a beautiful necklace that he wanted to give his crush. I quietly cried (sobbed and bawled) as I listened to his heart that night, not wanting him to know how deeply this was affecting my heart. Here my beautiful boy was planning out to ask the girl of his dreams, knowing he had a very short amount of time left here on earth. Holy crap, this stuff only happens in the movies!! As blessed as I was listening to his heart, I wanted out of that freaking movie!! I called Liz the next morning and described the necklace Nicholas had envisioned. She happily took the vision and ran with it. Within a few short hours, Nicholas had the custom necklace he designed in his hands. He tearfully accepted the necklace he would be giving the girl he had a crush on for a very long time. Liz, this moment I will never in my life forget. It is one of the memories I hold closely to my heart. Thank you for strengthening my boys heart and helping him fulfill the one thing none of us could have ever given him, and that is the joy of his first love.
