There is PLENTY OF BLAME to go around on the Veterans Hospital scandal. The EXECUTIVE branch of our federal government has direct control over the administration of VA hospitals: the PRESIDENT. The LEGISLATIVE branch of our federal government is charge with overseeing VA hospital: the CONGRESS. The MEDIA. The media has an obligation to keep Americans and government informed. STATE government. At least in Texas, counties have VETERANS officers who are charged with assisting local veterans. VA HOSPITAL PERSONNEL have direct knowledge of shortcomings and are obligated to protect our Veterans. FAMILIES OF VETERANS. They should be verbal in demanding prompt attention. CHARITABLE AGENCIES. They claim to help Veterans! The neglect of Veterans Is not an issue that can be swept under the carpet. It is and has existed for decades. From agent orange afflictions of the Viet Nam war to gulf war syndrome! My personal opinion is that neglect is a function of cost: DOLLARS AND CENTS! It is a conscience decision to meet budgetary constraints set by congress. A POSSIBLE SOLUTION. Allowing Veterans more access to non-govenermental health resources which apparently are unavailable within the VA system. A Veteran should not be a HERO just while they serve. Americas military budget (which is unimaginativebly huge) should be appropriately allocated in providing quality care for U.S. Veterans!
