There is a certain respect we should have for our leaders, but we should NEVER allow for their words to override the words of God. Their words should never contradict the words of God--both written or heard. A leader who seeks to cage the gifts and talents of others for his glory dishonors the office he is privileged to hold. If insecurity and fear is the base of his authority then he will seek to control the lives of others, and he will use his influence and Scripture to back up his manipulative ways. He will have his reward. Many are being manipulated in our day in the name of reverence and religion. I urge you to break free from those chains that have held you in bondage for so long. Embrace the relationship you are capable of having with our God. The Holy Spirit will teach, lead, and guide you. Never forget that your leader is a servant--not the ultimate authority. Respect and obey the authority of God and those who truly hear His voice and lead as He commands. Resist the bondage brought on by selfish tyrants, insecure egomaniacs, and hypocritical bigots. They must answer for their ways and give an account for their leadership. Come out of bondage. Its time.
