There is a concept about church that has been bothersome for me for some time. Whereas we see a great number of people migrating to Christian environments and even church, that is truly encouraging. But what is dangerous, is when we join such affiliations without truly understanding the purpose. If we say that we love and serve Christ, but we continue to do things that are contrary to what His Spirit is encouraging us to be and do, and we merely enjoy the fellowship with others while maintaining the things that we have always enjoyed doing (but would be disappointing to Christ), we are missing the point. Our connection to Christ requires us to be different. This means that we give up our sinful past and become a new creation through Him. If church has become a "feel good" experience and we live our lives like everyone else around us, we are not being that different person that Christ wants us to be and that He can use. Many Christians need to evaluate how they are living their experiences of Christ within His confines not ours. There is a difference.
