There is a confusion, even amongst the saints, about relationships and dating. This confusion has come because we try to mix the things of the world with the things of God and try to make a lie the truth. But no matter how our views may differ or what excuse or explanation we may come up with, the Word of God will always prevail. I remember when i got born again i was in a relationship with a very loving man. Even before i could hear it in church or read it in the Word of God, i knew that i had to end the relationship with the guy if i wanted to move forward with Christ. Sometimes i would try to convince myself that the relationship was not a distraction to me in terms of the ways of God. Sometimes id try to ignore the Word of God when it spoke to me concerning dating. I did all of this because i refused to acknowledge that dating is simply not for the Christian. But the more the Word of God dwelt and was rooted in me, my eyes became enlightened in the ways of God and i knew that i had to end the relationship. The word of God says that without faith it is impossible to please God. It also says that faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things that are not seen. It says, moreover, that we should seek first the kingdom of God and all things will be added unto us.God doesnt want you to worry, hence Jesus said that we should not worry about what we are going to eat or drink. All that He wants you to do is to abide and live by His word. If its a job that you want then Hell add it to you, if its money that you want then Hell add it unto you and if its marriage that you want then Hell add it unto you. All that He wants you to do is to put your trust in Him. I urge every one of you to please wait on the Lord. Lets not rush into unrighteous things because at the end of the day their wages is death. Let us not just speak but live the word of God. Yes, there are challenges, especially for us young people, and even God Himself knows about them. But then again, isnt that the reason why He said that He who endures to the end will be saved? No matter what may come your way, no matter what people may say, no matter how you might feel, shake all of those things out of your way and look forward unto the Lord. Whatever sin you have committed and whatever mistake that you might have made, He has forgiven you. All that He wants you to do is to leave that all behind you and move forward. No matter what anyone might say, it is not right for any child of God to be in a relationship. Just like Isaac went to the Lord and asked for a wife to Him when He felt that He was ready to get married, so should you consult your God. I know some might ask: How can i marry someone that i dont know? Well, isnt that why we have a God? He knows all things and He knows the person He has allocated you to marry. All that He wants you to do is to have faith in Him. Trusting your own or other peoples judgement will lead you nowhere.
