There is a difference between a beat maker and a producer! Beat - TopicsExpress

There is a difference between a beat maker and a producer! Beat makers are just that beat makers, what I use to be when I first jumped on DT. My sound was unique and different, but it wasn’t that of a producer. It wasn’t until I buckled down and took things seriously, started listen to advice of others that my music took a drastic turn for the better. I learned how to fill in empty spaces, put in different hits and fades giving certain points of my music emphasis which can make or break an entire song. It takes more to be a producer than a beat maker. A producer thinks about things such as….What direction am I gonna take this one, what type of structure am I going to place on this one. What audience am I making this for and what sounds will compliment the others…..What type of intro/ outro am I going to place on it? Some producers get to a point where you can’t tell them anything and that’s the point where you go back from being a producer to a beat maker. A beat maker just puts sounds together with no plan, point or structure. A producer’s ear is always open to learn and try new and different things and is always willing to take constructive criticism. S/O to all my beat makers though, because we all have to make that transition sooner or later.
