I spent a lot of time with someone who spent a hell of a lot of time in the criminal justice system in Saint Louis today, and who was there before and after this boy with his hands up was shot to death and left in the road like a dog for hours, who confirmed what I already knew: that theres no way in hell that an indictment will issue. I dont know why, but it just came out: are people going to die? Without much hesitation, she said yes. The most troubling thing about it is nobody seems to care. Not around here anyway.
