There is a fundamental problem with most of the online recruitment - TopicsExpress

There is a fundamental problem with most of the online recruitment sites that are popping up all over the place. Their operating models do not acknowledge the inherent tension between the attitude of employers who actively RECRUIT and the attitude of jobseekers who use these sites to search for generic jobs. In trying to exploit the latter opportunity they simply drown company recruiters in seas of bad CVs and resumes, with nary a care for the talent strategies of aspirational companies. Then they try to grab the former opportunity as well by representing themselves as headhunters for companies. Methinks they need to choose their real face. Helping aspirational companies truly optimise their talent search will require ditching the jobs for the masses orgy and improve on their own capacity to sift through the dross and not saddle employers with the heartbreak of enduring the depressing CVs and cover letters. It will mean they, the recruitment sites, hiring a different type of specialist themselves, specialists capable of sieving through the moulds in our stagnant talent pools. It will also mean different pricing strategies. Etc. What they cant do is be all things to all people, and to eat their cake and still have it.
