There is a genre of movies that I really like. I dont know whether they are categorized as Suspense or Thriller or simply Action. Ill just describe them as a regular person meets a crazy and somehow triumphs. In these films Joe or Judy Smith will encounter a bad guy or bad guys who mean to do harm to Mr. or Ms Smith. Smith turns out to be more than the bad guy expected. Now Im not talking about when the bad guy finds out that Smith was a Green Beret or trained at Shao-Lin. Theres no Jet Li or Steven Seagal type stuff going on. Im talking about Domestic Disturbance with John Travolta as a loving father who takes on psychopath Vince Vaughn. Then there is Kurt Russell being driven off the road by a maniacal truck driver (sorry, I cannot recall the name of that one). I also forget the name of the classic thriller with Kurt Russell (ordinary guy) being terrorized by cop Ray Liotta. Enough with Jennifer Lopez was another very good movie. Halfway through the film, my wife turned to me and said (while frowning), Why are we watching this ? I said, Just wait. She liked the ending. Cellular, Changing Lanes, Lakeview Terrace and Pacific Heights are other films in the ordinary man or woman meets Mr. Crazy genre. I like these movies because (in the film at least), good always beats bad.
