There is a good way and a bad way to approach me about my dogs. - TopicsExpress

There is a good way and a bad way to approach me about my dogs. Heres a tip, stupid lady whom I have never met, do not yell at me from across a field, telling me to get my g*d da*ned f**king dogs on a leash, when my dogs and I are nowhere near you and not even paying attention to you or your stupid little mutt. Guess what? You didnt even think to ask whether they are friendly or why they were not on leashes. (they were on electronic leashes, which actually allow me to be able to control their behavior, instead of the other kind, where they just pull me down and drag me. )You just started cursing at me. The dogs were not barking, growling, snarling, or paying you any mind at all. But you had to yell and cuss. This attracted the attention of my dogs, who became interested in your dog and began to go towards you. Duh. Then you freaked out even more, cursing more. Meanwhile I am calling my dogs and trying to explain to you about the electric collars. You shout, electronic collars are only for yards! I dont want to hear about your f**king electronic collars, bi**h! Put your g*dda*ned dogs on leashes! OK, lady , is it any wonder I finally said f**k you and called the dogs as I turned my back and walked away? Heres the kicker. She then shouts Im calling the police! I say, over my my shoulder, Fine, go ahead. So she says, Whats your name? Im calling them! Really, Lady? Im going to give you my name so you can can call the police on me,?? Right. Pull the other one. She kept shouting that as I walked away with my dogs. Finally I turned around and shouted that she should go ahead and call them. She said I cant until you give me your name! LOL. A neighbor of mine happened to witness the incident. He said I should have given her the name of the crazy neighbors that nobody likes. That was brilliant. Wish I had thought of it, because those are the neighbors, we finally discovered, who did in fact call the police twice last winter when they saw the dogs off leash. My neighbor, the one who saw todays exchange, says he thinks some people are afraid of dogs even if they have one. They usually have a small dog. They are not scared of the one they have, but of all other dogs. Yes, but if you are so afraid of dogs, how does it make sense to start yelling and cursing at the owner? What if the dogs got mad and protective towards their owner, and decided to attack you? Duh! OK, two more things. One, I am very sympathetic to people who feel intimidated by my big dogs, honestly I am. I will keep my dogs away from you. I do have them under under control, and they do obey me. I also always carry leashes with me, which I will gladly put on the dogs if it makes you feel better. But dont come at me cursing, when the dogs and I were just minding our own business. That will not win you much sympathy from me. Also, number two, I think these types of situations are why guns are so frightening. If that lady had been packing a gun, I am truly afraid she would have shot at me. She was that out of control. It was like bad road rage. Kind of scary. Anyway, this incident stood in contrast to something that happened a little earlier in the walk. A different lady, one in a wheelchair, came towards us on the bike path. She stopped before approaching further and asked if the dogs were friendly. I told her that they are, but that they have electronic collars so I can control them. I offered to put them on leashes but she thought it would be OK. Bella went up to make friends with her. I made the other dogs stay back because they are more iffy. Everything went fine, she loved Bella, and then she went on her way. No cursing. BOOM. It was just that easy. Stupid cussing lady! There is a special place in hell for people like you!!!!!
