There is a lot anger,hostility and despair at this time,justifiably so.. I also see racism coming to light as well..the only way to defeat this not only as a people but as country as well is to unite and stand as one. It cant be my way out the highway we must all get out of our comfort zone and make friendships with others..not too gain their sympathy but to gain their respect understanding and admiration..for example I live complex in witch their are over 350 units and all races live here black, white ,Asian, Indian ect..and out all these families I only know about ten, maybe..now I say to myself how can I expect people to understand me or my pain and my struggles if they dont even know me..I dont go out of my way to introduce myself to them, invite them over to eat, celebrate birthdays and holidays our even come over for the summer cookouts..I remember growing up as a kid going through elementary school I had friends from all walks of life back when things were simple..when you liked and became friends and judged a person not because of the color of their skin but because of how they where as a person.. thats what we as a nation need to get back to..and for those of you that are going to say I know black people our of have black friends or white friends or whatever or I know Muslims our I know Jews I say to you do you...Do you really...how many times a month do they come to your home and break bread with you and your family and Im not talking about the one our two times a year for the annual parties..Im talking about do you go out on Friday night to hang out, or just call each other over the phone one in a while to shoot the breeze or drop the kids off at each others house so you and your significant other can go out and if you cant say yeah to at least a few of those things well then can you say that you really know them or have them as friends...now I know life changes and friends and people move this doesnt apply to all, but for some of us this is a question you should ask your self..remember just because you work with them and say hi at work doesnt mean you know whom that person is..Im not saying to invite every Tom, dick, and Harry into your home but what Im saying is until we get to know one another truly as person only then can we come together as one and build one another and destroy this hatred and oppression....Just my thought
