There is a lot of religion talk again condemning ISIS without providing a political alternative. What is the solution to the ISIS political ideology? Democracy? America? NATO? ISIS has exploited a genuine sentiment in the Arab and Islamic world, the desire for the restoration of the caliphate. The solution is to define the office of the caliphate as it truly is, dynastic, and a monarchy since the era of the Rashidun Caliphs until 1924 when the Arabized Ottoman Caliphate was ended. This is where clergy should focus their attention, not simply their religious beliefs or illegal ijtihad. Merely condemning ISIS and their faith is no different than what all of America does to Islam and Muslims. The Arabs have figured it out, and deradicalization and preventing radicalization has entered a new era with a new permanent solution, spearheaded by the Sauds and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Alaouite Kingdom of Morocco, among its forefront. The Arab solution goes beyond mere anti-Wahhabi and anti-Salafist rhetoric and defines monarchism and the restoration of monarchies in the Arab and Muslim world, even if constitutional and ceremonial as the real alternative to ISIS and other Islamist and terrorist political philosophies.
