There is a man that sits across the street from my office building every morning. He is about 20 feet from the corner..... not in anyones way. He doesnt panhandle loudly, isnt rude or intimidating. Hes just there. Around 9am, hes gone. I dont know his name and he doesnt know mine. I do know he likes apples and anything that looks fresh. Packaged food makes him nervous. He declines politely but wont touch it. If its not in the wrapper anymore, its ok. Every morning I make sure I have a dollar for him in change or a bill. I pause and put it in his cup. Good morning sugar. Good morning! Its a pretty day,,,, Good morning! Its going to rain, try to find a dry place :)..... Good morning! Stay warm today, its going to be cold. I will, dont you worry... and thank you! Today, a Very Important Business Man bustled past as my friend and I had our daily quick chat. The VIBM passed just in time to hear what was said. I walked on and the VIBM stopped, turned to me with a smile and said You just made my day! went back and gave my friend whatever was in his pocket. That made me so happy. My very early Silver Lining for this Monday morning is knowing that someone took the time to do something nice when maybe he wouldnt have. I write these long messages because sometimes I need to remind myself of those silver linings. They are MY happy thing.... If I write them down, I can come back and read them in a few hours when all things are crazy. We all have our own things to deal with, we all have stress and hardships.... but there is always something good, theres always a silver lining. I will keep writing mine so I dont forget them and if they get too long (or already are), just surf on by lol - but even if you do..... try to find your own... I promise it will be worth it :)
