There is a man wandering up and down the corridor between apartment buildings with a leaf-blower on full blast. He does this about once a week ALL YEAR LONG. He is part of the landscaping company that does a terrible job of butchering the poor plants living around our apartment buildings. Today I could not take it anymore. It is a gorgeous spring day with not a leaf in sight and the stench of deisle and drone of the leafblower are driving me mad. I stomp down the stairs in my robe, walk up to the man, waive my arms to get him to remove the ear protection hes wearing (yeah, those industrial leaf-blowers are LOUD) and ask him: What are you DOING with that leafblower?!?! He looks puzzled. ?Que? I have to blow the leaves. I look around in disbelief. WHAT LEAVES?!?! There ARE NO LEAVES ON THE GROUND! Its SPRING! You dont have to blow leaves in SPRING! I have to blow the leaves. I am sorry I am defeated by the language barrier and the stolid apathy of the grunt manual laborer.
