There is a massive road in Barcelona call Avinguda Diagonal. A part of this wide avenue is dedicated to the tramway. Read... light rail. It is about 5 km long or so. The Avenue has a wide pedestrian walkway shared with a two way bike path, which has trees on both sides. The rail lines are on each side of the walkway and have grass along the routes. It is very pretty and very effective. Trams every 4 minutes or so. Very easy to use. Check these pics
