There is a new pilot project here in Montana via VA, which is wonderful, that is meant to help veterans seek care closer to home. I think all who think they are the lord thy name is my name heros/retirees/reservists and such and what you name it, and who think they can reach out therefore easier to dominate the service connected market ( pulling their veterans hook), and who also run or are involvedd in a medical facility/non profit/profit etc/ within their civilian life specifically within such localities that may participate, since the earlier described action is certainly related to the local PMC and our ba dexperiences with BENEFIS, I woud like to say a few words about this pilot project. Bringing care to veterans closer to home is for those veterans who do not wish to travel and wish to seek it. It is meant to be a service TO veterans that they can use if it makes their life easier. It does not mean that local medical facilties and networks can enforce such service or care, or demand a certain veteran be seen by them, if he chooses to rather travel, nor is it a freebee to the harassment and bullying already executed against the target groups of the service connected and disabled at hand, with the goal of profiteering and only to get the business quota up ina facility. I think we all from Benefis to PMC and others should take a big step back and consider before anyone ends up violating rights that may indeed lead to prosecution. It is always the veteran who decides where he wishes to seek his care, and it is him who decides whether to seek it or not. We are not in NAZI Germany or a totalitarian country and system, and we do not enforce medical care, just because the services may be paid for, or because someone believes someone else needs it. It does not mean that eligible veterans will now be free to be stalked and forced into care facilties they do not wish to seek care from. But if they decide they wish to, it does not entitle that facility to make decisions about what kind of care or housing or lifestyle and when and how a veteran needs ( it), just because he has the entitlement. And we will of course not play the mental health abuse game either. It is called patients rights, and it applies within the veterans world as well, and we WILL ALL respect it......:-)
