There is a new version of an often used scam targeting phones. If you receive a call, usually only one ring, from area code 473 do NOT call them back. If you are fast enough you might be able to answer, only to hear groaning or other sounds of distress before disconnecting. Naturally, this call entices people to call the number back. DO NOT CALL TO AREA CODE 473 while area code 473 appears to be a domestic number, it was created for the islands of Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique, which, like the US use country code 1. Calls to 473 are international and can be expensive - the number appears on called ID as a premium service number, and the rate can exceed $20 of the first minute! 473 is not the only area code that can be used as a scam because they are international calls.
