There is a rotating wheel of catastrophes and causes, atrocities and activism: - Mental health/suicide prevention (Robin Williams, Philip Seymour Hoffman, etc.) - Police brutality, racial tension, protests and rioting (Eric Garner, Mike Brown, and sadly many others) - Human trafficking (Nigerian school girls abducted by Boko Haram) - ISIS raping, beheading, and slaughtering Christian minorities in Iraq - The child immigration crisis - Natural disasters: hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes, floods - Unnatural disasters: nuclear power plant spills and shot down airplanes - The ongoing conflict in Ukraine and Russia - Violence in Gaza between Israel and Hamas Its natural to want to blame the click-baiting media for sensationalism, but the truth is theres legitimately a lot of corruption and evil and hatred and prejudice and murder in the world. These are not just political or social or economic conditions, they are SPIRITUAL conditions!!! There is value in organizing, in petitions, in sit-ins, in national moments of silence, in sharing photos that galvanize people to act... but theres even MORE power in repentance, in prayer, in the ministry of reconciliation. In uniting and mobilizing under the banner of Christ-centered love, and making our presence, and more importantly HIS presence, felt in a lost and dying world.
