There is a saying that says Time heals all wounds. Twenty years later I still have a hole in my heart that will never close. I still remember the phone call in the middle of the night that said I would no longer hear my sisters voice, her laughter or see her beautiful face. No longer have my handsome nephew sit in my lap call me Aunt Debbie and tell me about his girlfriends. He will be forever 6 years old. That night my family dynamics changed beyond words, my mothers heart shattered into a million pieces and my father felt that he failed in protecting his child. No more laughter no more holiday celebrations and birthdays. Time does go on. I have an amazing husband who understands when he looks at my face and sees sadness that he knows where my thoughts are. My daughter who is my pride and joy who has given me 4 beautiful grandchilden who I look at everyday and know my reason in life. I will visit my dad today and be thankful that he will not remember today and wont see the sadness in my face and know why. I am thankful to all my friends and family who have been thru these years of ups and downs and the love that they give me. Heaven has two beautiful angles and I miss them soooo very much. Call your family and tell them you love them I wish I could.
