There is a scary trend in donating to rescues on FB. People seem very driven to donate to an emergency or an extreme situation, such as the horrific things that were done to Patty in Detroit. They raised over 24k in 24 hours. Dont get me wrong, I am so glad Patty is getting the help she needs, and that hopefully some of that money can be used to bring her tormentors to justice. But what seems to happen, is people neglect the rescue after the dog gets better. Each and every dog we have here in our care, came from some sort of extreme situations. They are the only ones we take. We do long term rehabilitation on them, and make sure they reach a standard before making them available for adoption. Right now we have 8 rescue dogs in the system, and only 2 are adoptable at this point. the others are being rehabilitated and trained. This kind of work is expensive, and the only income is donations and money we use from our own jobs to keep this alive. Please take a second and help us out, we are full, and have lots of dogs to work with, which costs lots of time and resource. Thank you for all of those that have helped, and thank you to those that will help tonight, sometimes you just have to have faith!
