There is a sea of difference between the religious groups in a secular and political mature country and a country that can’t shake off the influence of religion from its political discourse. Religious groups in a secular country are often just pressure groups. In developing secular democracies, sometimes, they have more impact but they don’t make policies and often fail to sway the middle-class into following their religious brand. In Muslim countries, the fundamentals and revivalists have polluted minds so thoroughly that now known fundamentalist such as Ghamdi and Banna are called liberal and progressives Muslims.
