There is a slight risk of Severe Thunderstorms - Across the North - TopicsExpress

There is a slight risk of Severe Thunderstorms - Across the North Wales and Merseyside UK. Primary Threats will include: Severe Winds of excess of 60mph and possibly 65kts or greater and Isolated, potentially short-lived damaging tornado cannot be ruled out. Discussion: Behind a ENE-ward moving front (already transforming from a cold front into an occlusion from N to S) seasonable BL moisture remains in place. And this could trigger afternoon, evening and overnight storms. Mid/upper jets also reveal a good placement for some lift in addition to a weak vort.max. crossing the area of interest from SW to NE between 12-18Z. However, forecast soundings show a meager depth of the BL moisture with constant drying above. Wind Shear will be around 45 to 55kt. A chance of severe weather cannot be ruled out.
