There is a small parvo scare right now some of you may have read about on Claycord. I want to address that the article is from a lady stating her dog was completely vaccinated and contacted parvo. She also says her vet has seen several cases this month and they may he traced back to two dog parks in our area. Parvo has and will always be a potential threat. If you feel worried, please titer test your dogs immunity level. We dont know if this dog was properly vaccinated or titered (not mentioned). Perhaps the dog never had immunity. Just giving shots doesnt grant immunity. They must be given on an appropriate schedule and handled properly. We take many precautions with young dogs doing training class such as having owners carry them, use a picnic blanket to train on, wipe feet with sanitizing wipes. Proper socialization and training will always be number one for me and I hope this small scare doesnt dissuade you all from continuing to take your dogs in public while exercising proper caution.
