There is a story of President Kennedy visiting the Special Forces Training Center in Ft Bragg in 1961. He had a college classmate who was serving as a Green Beret. As the story goes there were some armchair Generals who wanted to change the headgear worn by Green Berets. The President stated he would not visit unless they were wearing the Green Beret. 1962, he called the green beret, a symbol of excellence, a badge of courage, a mark of distinction in the fight for freedom. Special Forces soldiers in berets and dress Greens were President Kennedys cortege in 1963. An SF beret was photographed atop his grave at Arlington National Cemetery. This was fully supported by the Green Berets !! This was the only recorded time their has been the resemblance of the Commander in Chief dictating the Militaries uniform wear. POTUS does not and has not implemented the the dress of the Armed Services. To all you freaking idiots that believe anything your itchy uneducated ignorant ears want to hear on Fox News. Do a little research dig into the story and find the truth, and for you chumps who have never been in the military far less the Marine Corps Shut the hell up !!
