There is a stupid notion that the greater works that Jesus was - TopicsExpress

There is a stupid notion that the greater works that Jesus was referring to meant bigger or better miracles and people are running after and looking for more and more spectacular things to happen in church services. Let me just blow that notion right out of the water. The greater that Jesus was referring to was quantity, not quality. In other words, by Him going to the Father, His disciples and those after them who were going to carry on with the work would accomplish much more than what He had in His three and a half years of earthly ministry. Think of it, more than 2000 years had lapsed since He ascended into Heaven and accumulatively we can in fact say that over that period, much more miracles had indeed been and continues to be performed. Frankly, I have yet to meet or hear of anyone that can perform a miracle that is bigger or better than what Jesus did. For example, what is bigger or better than raising someone from the dead? Twice, Jesus had mentioned that a servant is not greater than his lord so how can the miracles that the servants of Jesus do be bigger or better in quality than that of the Master. So greater means quantity, not quality. We need to get our doctrine right. I believe that the role of the Teacher in the body of Christ is very underestimated and underrated. In these last days, the ministry of the Teacher will come to the fore and expose false or wrong teaching that is running wild in the body of Christ today. We are not talking about bible school teaching which in my view is purely academic or theological. We are talking about an occasion when the Teacher addresses the people of God and the anointing is present to destroy the yolk of the bondage of wrong doctrine, wrong thinking and wrong believing that is keeping the people of God from entering the fullness of God. Too many are being carried away by every wind of doctrine. Any wrong teaching or believing opens the doorway to the deceiver. Let me hear your comments
