There is a tragic and ultimately fatal flaw that besets superheroes. In the most classic example we see Bruce Wayne who, rather than using his vast resources to combat poverty, or successfully train and equip an overburdened police force, instead builds a Batjet. And Batboat. And so on. On the other end of the spectrum, Clark Kent spends his day working in an office, rather than devote his full time to preventing things like murder, rape, and the sort of commonplace crime that isnt an oil tanker running aground, or the space shuttle crashing. Both are examples of how, with a little planning and forethought, you could really build a better fictional world.
