There is a tremendous interest today in prophecy. Even those who dont claim to be believers buy Christian books on prophecy. Indeed, some of these books are best sellers and many who buy them are not followers of Christ. What has precipitated this interest among all kinds of people? I dont have room to give all the reasons, but I believe that world conditions have people asking questions they have never asked before? Whats wrong with America? How are we going to address the hopeless financial debt that hangs over our country? How can we stop the moral disintegration? But there are other facts that discourage our people. First, there is very little hope that the two parties in Washington will ever put the future of America above their party agendas. They will do whatever it takes to take or retake the seat of power, even if it is to the detriment of America. I know, this is a serious charge, but most Americans have little or no hope that leaders in Washington will ever get together on anything but raising their own salaries and benefits. There are a few, and I say FEW, in Washington who know our problems and are trying to solve them, but with little success. I am like the Old Testament prophets who foresaw the fall of Israel and then Judah. They warned people that it was coming and were ridiculed and even imprisoned for what they said. I would die for my country but I am witnessing the fall of the greatest nation that ever existed. There are others who join me in the sad realization that the America we once knew is gone and it may be gone forever UNLESS by some miraculous intervention of God there is a spiritual revival. So people are looking for answers that help them get some idea of what may or may not happen in the future. But be careful. This is the time that false prophets will make millions exploiting peoples inordinate interest in the future. But I can tell them that there is only one answer: surrender your life to Christ. It is God who holds the future in His hands and that is the only safe and secure place there is.
