There is a whole lot going on in this Poster From The Past, so take a good look at it and see if you can follow me! The central image appears to begin at the bottom with a figure whose legs appear to be in the lotus position, however, where one expects to find feet, there are hands. The torso above the legs has a face with a belly button for a mouth. Continuing up one finds a huge beard hanging over the chest. A mouth is where one would expect a mouth to be, but as you look further up, you find that the mouth is in the center of the forehead of a womans face viewed from the top looking down at her breasts and her feet. Her arms are outstretched, and her fingers form a circle within which is a small butterfly. To her left and her rights a field of flowers where you find a rather strange pair of horned fat rodents which appear to have human ears. Phew!…. So there you have it. If you have anything to add ….Im ready to hear it! This is BG Fillmore poster number #127 in the series, which was printed only one time. And so it was 46 tears ago on this day back in 1968 that this six day 4th of July holiday series of concerts continued. The first three days included performances by Creedence Clearwater Revival, Steppenwolf and Its a Beautiful Day. The following three days the bands included The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Ten Years After and The Truth. Beautiful light show as usual by Holy See & Company. All this and more at The Fillmore Auditorium here in San Francisco. Poster by the Awesome rock artist, Lee Conklin. Share some of this fantasy with a friend! Approved by Professor Poster
