There is a woman on my Facebook feed whom I went to high school with and used to be very friendly with. There was no event that caused us to stop being friends; I suppose technically we still are. But we dont talk to one another anymore and when I run into them out and about the small town that we both live in, we exchange hello and maybe a little hand wave. Earlier today she posted a link to that news story from The Onion that undoubtedly some of you have read about the facebook app on your phone that will alert you every time you are not on facebook. I would link the article, but its actually fairly entertaining and not suitable for us to talk about here this evening. She believes this news story is true and not satire, regardless of the fact that she, herself, pasted the link directly from The Onion. In the comments below I did point out that it was from The Onion with the subtle, yet succinct comment, Its from the Onion. This has done nothing to stem the tide of gullible white girls and middle-aged women fainting with anger over Facebooks planned transgressions into their lives. I have no further interest in attempting to enlighten anyone, and I am simply watching at this point.
