There is absolutely no contradiction (as the HT piece is titled) in what millions of Young Indians are desiring for. The fact that 75% of the Young Indians want to vote for a change clearly dubunks the "dictatorship thesis". What the Young India badly is asking for is a decisive leader, who believes in "India First" vision, who is a can-do type, who shares (even to the point of souding "I, me, myself") instead of busy in backroom deals and softly looting the nation dry (as Dr. MS). Not just this survey but others carried out by HT, India Today, ITBL and others comprising from 6.000 to 20.000 eligible voters have comes up with exactly the same conclusion - that Indians want to stop the loot, they demand development, they demand fewer bills/ acts and more action, they want services, they want transparency and they all agree on one thing - LACK OF HONEST GOVERNANCE AND POLICY PARALYSES are our greatest challenges, driving our nation hollow from inside. Young indians no longer have appetite for long lectures on caste lines, on religions lines, on cheap vote bank non-sense - they demand clean governance, they demand rightful place in the world. hindustantimes/Specials/Coverage/YouthSurvey2013/Chunk-HT-UI-YouthSurvey2013-YouthAndPoliticsTopStories/Young-India-irony-75-will-vote-but-52-support-dictatorship/SP-Article10-1103400.aspx
