There is always some good that comes out of a bad situation, and I - TopicsExpress

There is always some good that comes out of a bad situation, and I want to share mine with everyone :) Yesterday my son had a bad day... pushing kids at school, throwing everything in his sight around, shaking water out of his water bottle, banging his head etc. When he came home, he purposely threw over a bucket full of water all over the floor. He giggled away as I was swearing under my breath.... not what I needed after a days work, while trying to cook, while trying to keep him entertained, and while picking up everything he was throwing on the floor including a potty full of pee.... After moving the furniture and the washing machine, removing everything off the floor and painstakingly gathering up all the water with a cloth and draining it into the bucket, I continued cooking. I was pretty flustered by then, so you can imagine how I felt when I slipped on some water and took a hard fall. Cherry on the cake, I thought. But as I was getting up, I saw that my son was looking at me, hands on his head and crying... he blubbered something mama... That was the first time my son ever showed CONCERN :) for someone with Autism, this is a big deal! It is a new emotion, a show of understanding that when someone falls, they might be injured and it is not a nice thing. And he cried because his mama was hurt. And just like that, my day was made. What a beautiful thing came out of it
