There is an awful stereotype today, and they are getting a bad wrap. I have been around several different churches, and the pastors of those churches, and something is wrong. These pastors that I have been around are doing what God has called them to do, and so many times they get a bad wrap simply because of the stereotype people had put on church. Jefferson Bethke said it best when he said church is not a museum for good people, its a hospital for the broken. What does this mean? Church is not there to showcase all the good people that go there, its there to help fix the people who are struggling. There is not a single person that goes to any church anywhere, who should be put on a pedestal for all to see how good they are. There is not one single person who is perfect, and in some way, shape, or form, there is a struggle in everyones life, and they need a hospital for the broken. Now Im not saying that we cant go to church and praise and worship God. Im just defending church all around when I say that we get stereotyped by someones thoughts, that church people look down their noses at sinners. It dont matter who you are, we are all sinners saved by Grace. If we were all honest, we all have something that we could take to the alter and leave! Get up, go to church, we all need it!
